Technology - Is it Destroying Our Children's Social Skills?

Over the past couple of months, friends have been on my mind a lot lately so I thought this would be a good topic to write about. As I grow older in this life I have learned that we should always hold onto the good ones because they are hard to come by. Friends come and go throughout our life time and some stay longer than others this is just a fact.

This topic is very close to my heart. Lately I have been taking stock of the different facets in my life. I am a firm believer that people come into our lives and stay for the length of time they are meant to. I think friends are there to either help us learn and grow or for us to do the same for them, then they move on or we move on once our task is complete.

I have had many people come in and out of my life and have had a few that have been there for quite some time. Now, those ones, we don’t see each other all the time but I firmly believe that good friends don’t need to see each other all the time or talk all the time. Good friends can pick things up after a year or two of absence and it is like no time has passed since you last spoke or saw each other. In my eyes, those are the “true” friends.

We should always surround ourselves with people that will motivate and inspire us and we should always motivate and inspire them. This I firmly believe will only lead to positive experiences and good relationships. I had a very good friend of mine tell me today that “life happens” people get busy. In saying this I am reminded of a quote by the very famous John Lennon. “Life is what happens to you while we are busy making other plans”
